Two things are always new - Youth & the Quest for Knowledge
Abott Lawrence Lowell

Commonplacing is the act of selecting important phrases, lines, and/or passages from texts and writing them down; the commonplace book is the notebook in which a reader has collected quotations from works s/he has read. Commonplace books can also include comments and notes from the reader; they are frequently indexed so that the reader can classify important themes and locate quotations related to particular topics or authors.

Hello again

Hello again! I've decided to return from an indefinite hiatus to resume blogging. Those who've been to this blog will notice a few distinct changes from my old blog.

Colour - My old blog used to have a blue colour scheme. There's no doubt that blue -especially dark blue - is my favourite colour and will always be. Nonetheless, to reflect on my experiences at Harvard, I've decided to adopt the official colour of Harvard University, Crimson, as the colour scheme of my new blog. I decided that it'll do no harm to experiment with colours, for constancy - to a certain extent - reflects staticism of mind and the lack of self-vigour. Regardless of my choice of colour, I'll always remain a Light Blue at heart.

Content - I used to write a whole gamut of my experiences during my freshman (first) year at college. Now, I'm in my senior year (third and final undergraduate year). As time goes by, the mind matures and brashfulness of youth mellows. So, I'm going to write mainly on my thoughts, opinions and review some of the books or films that I've read/watched. In spite of this, I may sometimes break this rule and write on my experiences/feelings if the need to do so overwhelms the logic against it. But one rule remains: I'll NEVER write about my past. This is a blog of my present and future. I've learnt that we should NEVER dwell in the past.

(I remember reading somewhere that a wise man once said "The greatest suffering is to remember the joys of one's past".)

Character - This new blog oozes character. 'Nuff said. haha. (Some people should catch this joke)

So, some of you may wonder: what has happened to the old 'Hardcore MedSci' blog? As I've said, this is a blog of my present and future. Likewise, all things past have been removed and stored away in some place save, where nobody (except your truly) can ever access them. I had initially thought of deleting all of them - blog entries and comments - but the thought of deleting one years' worth of memories was too much to fathom.

Also, it should be duly noted that entries won't be as frequent as before. I'll only post when I see the need to do so. Life should be more than just sitting in front of the computer and typing away blog entries.

Thank you for visiting my commonplace book (a.k.a. blog) :-)
