My penultimate week at Harvard
I'm in the penultimate week of my time at Harvard. And I have been busy finishing up my experiments and now, I am starting to prepare my presentation slides. Thus, I haven't had the time to update this blog.
Update for the past week: Nothing much.
Saturday saw me walking along the Freedom trail, tracing the path that connected various landmarks of historical significance. I didn't finish the trail though, since I only went as far as the USS Constitution, a US warship which was important in the War of 1812 between Britian and the newly formed United States. At the giftshop, I bought authentic replicas of four important historical documents - the Declaration of Independence, the Bill of Rights, the US Constitution and President Lincoln's Gettysburg speech. Cool, huh?
Then, on Sunday, thanks to Cheng Hau, I gatecrashed the MIT Malaysian Association (MITMASA) Freshman BBQ; never mind that that event was actually open to public. And never mind that I was wearing a big crimson tshirt screaming the word 'Harvard'. (FYI, Harvard and MIT are rivals, though the rivalry is less pronounced than that between Oxford and Cambridge, UK) And the number of Malaysian MIT freshmen (actually, woman) totalled to just one this year. There, I managed to catch up with some old friends. And made new ones too.
I have wanted to write a short review about all the books I've read this summer so far, but I guess I haven't have the time to sit down and reflect on those books. My work is taking up my time right now. They didn't give me a stipend and a room for 10 weeks just to tour the USA, y'know?
Well, I guess this is just a random post. Just another post to keep my commonplace book alive. Till the next entry, bye!
