Tommorrow is my presentation day. So far, I've completed all my powerpoint slides. Now, I just need to go through them and make sure I know what to say for each slide. Don't want to be lost during the presentation! Plus, I need to make sure I know my work inside out because Dr King is a very critical listener. During presentations by other postdoctoral fellows, he has always listened and posed questions to the presenter. At times, those questions are tough. Christian (my supervisor) says that it's a good training for any future presentations that I have to give.

My last week at Harvard

This is my last week in Harvard Medical School. But before that, I've got to present my research 'findings' to my principal investigator, who also happens to be the Research Director at the Joslin, and who also happens to be a Professor of Medicine at the medical school. So, I've got to pull up my socks and get lots of work done before my presentation.
Incidentally, I'm also going to shift my blog to the Harvard Law School blog server. I've just gotten an account in the HLS blogsite. This blog site is meant to be the official blog server for members of the Harvard community and not just for... (more)

I'm in the penultimate week of my time at Harvard. And I have been busy finishing up my experiments and now, I am starting to prepare my presentation slides. Thus, I haven't had the time to update this blog.
Update for the past week: Nothing much.
Saturday saw me walking along the Freedom trail, tracing the path that connected various landmarks of historical significance. I didn't finish the trail though, since I only went as far as the USS Constitution, a US warship which was important in the War of 1812 between Britian and the newly formed United States. At the giftshop, I bought... (more)

As they say, good news are meant to be shared... so here goes!
To Imran Idris and Aliyya!
Two people whom I know - the man from Cambridge University and the lady from INTEC UiTM - and whom I also deeply admire and respect. Future doctors. And most of all, future husband and wife. I feel so excited for them!
Three cheers! Check out Imran's post on this joyous event: http://www.imranidris.com/2006/09/engagement/

Hello again

Hello again! I've decided to return from an indefinite hiatus to resume blogging. Those who've been to this blog will notice a few distinct changes from my old blog.
Colour - My old blog used to have a blue colour scheme. There's no doubt that blue -especially dark blue - is my favourite colour and will always be. Nonetheless, to reflect on my experiences at Harvard, I've decided to adopt the official colour of Harvard University, Crimson, as the colour scheme of my new blog. I decided that it'll do no harm to experiment with colours, for constancy - to a certain extent - reflects staticism... (more)
